AMZN Case in point: AAPL

AAPL breaks below the breakout point/apex of the triangle, huge volume comes in on stops and shorts and a bounce shaking out some of the shorts. There wasn't even a decent positive divergence here. Remember, the HFTs are going to make the most money by creating as much volatility as possible and triggering as many limit and stop orders (volume) as possible, but the HFTs rarely represent the trend, they're intraday noise, but they sure can send investors in to an emotional panic.
